Caring Covid-19 Comics: A Gift for Dr. Acton
Donation protected
PLEASE DONATE TODAY. We need your help to keep the project moving forward.
As a way of showing appreciation for Dr. Amy Acton's strategic leadership and compassionate action during the initial phase of the Covid-19 crisis, we have designed a book comprised of all The Owl from Powell comics that were created in the first few months of the pandemic. Our goal is to present this book to Dr. Acton in gratitude for her leadership and her commitment to keeping Ohioans healthy and safe.
The book is 32 pages and consists of 46 comics that tell the ever-evolving storyline of dealing with a novel virus from the very beginning. From the stay-at-home order to the importance of wearing masks to the instruction of keeping six feet apart, and more, the comics are a reminder of those very stressful few months yet provide a smile and even a few chuckles to lift the spirits of everyone in the buckeye state.

PLEASE DONATE TODAY. We need your help to keep the project moving forward. Our goal is set at $1500 and this is how the funds will break down:
Artist Fee: $500
Printer's Proof: $35
Final Book for Dr. Acton: $35
+ all taxes and shipping: Guestimate $30
(There might be minor additional costs that we can't foresee at this time.)
TOTAL: Approx. $600. We will need to raise $600 to move the project to the next step which is to get a printer's proof. The quicker we get the donations, the faster the project will move. So, a big 'thank you' to you for donating today.
As a donor, your name will be printed in the book, because this gift is a 'thank you' from all of us.
Any money raised above approx. $600 will be given directly to Dr. Acton or to a charity of her choosing. We are in the planning stage of how to present this gift to Dr. Acton. Because of the virus, we might have to have a Zoom event, but we are still figuring that out. (Updates to come.) Also, we have media contacts in Columbus and Cleveland and are contacting them to see if we can get some press.
The book will be available for pre-order soon at The Owl from Powell website , and each will be signed and dated by the artist, John Marefka. (Updates to come with pre-ordering info.)
Thank you all for following and supporting The Owl from Powell. While these times have been stressful, it's been wonderful connecting with new friends in the buckeye state.

ABOUT THE OWL FROM POWELL
