Carina Jimenez’s memorial expenses

On February 10th at 8:26 pm we gained a beautiful angel. Carina Jimenez lost her battle with COVID-19. Her battle begun on January 23 when she was taken to the hospital for difficulty breathing. None of our family had heard from her or were given an update until 2 days after she was admitted and we were told she had COVID pneumonia. She went into cardiac arrest but the doctors were able to bring her back after performing CPR. She was put onto a ventilator for 18 days. Those were the worst 18 days of my life. I was filled with uncertainty but still trying to remain positive and hopeful that she would get to come back home to us. I was the one making all of her medical decisions and my mother and I had never discussed her end of life wishes so it was really tough. On February 5th, I got a call from the hospital and they told me that my mom’s oxygen levels were lowering rapidly and that her heart would eventually stop again but performing CPR and bringing her back wouldn’t do much but prolong her death so I made a difficult choice to authorize a DNR. They told me that if we wanted to say goodbye that we would have to get there ASAP. My siblings and I weren’t able to be in the same room as her all we could do is see her from a small cut out square in the plastic that surrounded the inside of the room. She still kept fighting for another 5 days but her heart eventually gave up. Now she is at peace and I am truly happy for her, happy that she is no longer suffering because I would never want to continue seeing my mom suffer the way she was. We are all so heartbroken and devastated to lose her at just 50 years of age.
My mom had the biggest heart, she was such a beautiful person. My mom’s love language was definitely gift-giving, she would always get everyone little gifts including her family and friends and I just knew it would warm her heart to see the smiles on their faces when she’d give it to them. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a wonderful mother and daughter. We’re all going to miss her beautiful smile so much and her goofy personality. This isn’t a goodbye she will forever be in our hearts and we will see her in the next life ❤️ I love you mommy.

She leaves behind her 4 kids (1 daughter and 3 sons) ages 24, 21, 14 and 12.

All donations will be going towards memorial expenses and towards helping her family get back on their feet.

Thank you to all of the family and friends that have been praying for her and our family. We appreciate it so much
