Carina Gia Farrero Cancer Care Fund

I'm writing on behalf of Carina's friends and caregivers to raise money for Carina's cancer care. Carina has been diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma in her nasal cavity; it has already caused her to lose most of her vision in under 2 months. She's being treated at Emory Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, where she's been living for the past few years.

Carina moved to Atlanta to be near family following the death of her sister (cancer) and a devastating car crash that left Carina with a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This TBI affects memory and executive functioning, compounding the challenges of cancer care.

She's currently getting chemotherapy to shrink the mass before surgeons perform complex facial surgery to remove the tumor.

Carina needs a steady, safe rental near medical facilities where she, her dog, and her caregivers can stay for a few months during this phase of treatment. She urgently needs professional specialist home care and guidance for medical, administrative, and everyday living needs.

This initial ask of $18,000 is meant to cover these first three months of basic home health care for 3-4 days a week and basic living expenses. Additionally, funds will be used for physical therapy and other medical treatment costs not covered by basic personal insurance. Anything you can contribute will be accepted gratefully.
