Hi everyone!! This GoFundMe has been set up to help reduce the financial burden on our beloved Cari and David Richards. This is a reader digests synopsis of what Cari and David are dealing with... For those who do not know, our sister in motorcycles, Miss Cari, was severely injured in a low speed motorcycle accident Sunday June 28th, 2020 while taking a slick corner. Truly a FREAK accident. She was immediately knocked unconscious. EMT arrived within minutes and Cari has been in the ICU at TriStar Skyline Medical Center ever since. Her injuries consist of one skull fracture, a broken collarbone, an injured ligament in her neck, a brain bleed that is now under control, brain swelling that has stabilized, and a possible cracked sternum. Most of her conditions have a treatment protocol. She has been under heavy sedation, of which they are trying to ween her off of currently. We have dealt with a lung infection from her breathing tube, amongst road rash and other minor issues. She is currently being sustained on a feeding tube. BUT, Overall, Cari is expected to make a full recovery. It will take time and patience. Two, almost three weeks later, she is responsive to light and touch. She has opened her eyes, wiggled toes, feet and even whole leg movement. Her intubation tube is still in place, and may be for a while, although her breathing seems to be stable. She has a CT scan and/or an MRI every other day. Her neurological progress is between her, time, and God. As you can imagine, the hospital bills are going to be outrageous and are not slowing down. On top of everything, Cari does not have health insurance. When it rains it pours. OUR MOTORCYCLE FAMILY NEEDS HELP! Anyone who has ever been in the presence of David and Cari are fully aware of how kind, selfless, and caring they are. Whether it is planning a day ride for all of their friends, hosting a surprise birthday party, or taking time out of their Sunday to fix a friends AC unit, free of charge - They are simply GOOD PEOPLE.
