Cari & Michael's IVF journey

If you know Cari, you know that she's the kindest & most sincere person you could ever meet. She's brilliantly smart and has wisdom and the ability to empathize far greater than a person so young should be able to.

She is an amazing friend, foster mom to any and every stray cat that shows up at her doorstep, a loving wife, sister, auntie & daughter. Being in the healthcare field for almost 10 years as a sonographer, she has felt the saddest & witnessed the most happiest moments in some people's lives.

If you asked Cari's loved ones, they would tell you that she is the caretaker of the family. No matter what the need is, she bends and bends but never breaks. Cari is strong, she is selfless, & without a doubt is made to be a wonderful mother.

This being said, Cari and her husband, Michael have been struggling with infertility for at least the past 7 years. Starting off with IUI and then shortly after beginning the process of IVF. During that first round of IVF, Cari's mother was diagnosed with cancer. Cari would never take credit for or admit to most, but she kept her mother alive much longer than the doctors had predicted. Tending to her, going to her home, staying the night with her, and taking her to & from chemo treatments. You name it, she did it, after all, her momma was her best friend. It was during this emotional time that the IVF was unsuccessful and her mother passed after some time.

If you know anything about IVF, you know how time consuming, emotionally and physically exhausting it is & how hard it is on your body. Cari is a person who is able to take on much more than most; as some of her closest friends, we would like to give Cari the opportunity to have one more shot at IVF. We know as friends there will never be enough words or comfort to make Cari's heart completely full. Motherhood was made for her & we have seen far too many tears shed. We can only hope that with whatever money we can raise, Cari can begin to start her own family & enjoy one of life's greatest gift, a child. We love you, Cari girl.
