Help Jules Replace His Stolen Truck

Donation protected
Meet Julian. He just turned 18 THREE DAYS ago!!!  He lives in Costa Mesa/Orange County, CA, and there are a lot of affluent parents who are able to give their kids everything. Julians parents, Angela and Dave, are honest, hard-working people that would love to do this, but are raising their kids to be self reliant and resiliant.  Julian is the poster child for "a good kid" and is a wonderful example of what his parent are trying to achieve.

Today, his truck got stolen. The used truck he worked so hard to save up money for. The truck that he spent so much time working on and fixing up. The truck that ALSO had his and his brothers BRAND NEW skateboards, iPods, chargers, etc in. While that might seem a shame, when you know what Julian has been through in the past few years, you will see how truly heart-breaking and unfair this really is.

Julian has always worked hard to buy the things he's wanted. In 2009 he saved up money to buy a BMX bike, which got stolen. Being resourceful, he collected recyclables in order to buy a new one, but instead decided to donate that money to a dog rescue.

Last summer, the dirtbike that he bought himself, was stolen. Thankfully, he was able to recover it with minimal damage and was able to fix it up himself.

Then, the truck. The ultimate freedom. He worked years to save up to buy this used truck. It afforded him the freedom to take his dirtbike out without having to rely on others, he was able to drive himself (and his younger brother) to school, help out with the family, etc (allowing his mom to be able to work and volunteer more).

Then the unthinkable. Just one month before he was set to graduate high school (with a firm plan to go to the fire academy, something he has been working toward and volunteering for through the Orange County Fire Authority for years) he got in a terrible accident. While doing a photo shoot with his dirt bike, he was riding back to his truck when he hit a rut in the road and was thrown from his bike, sustaining 2 brain bleeds and a concussion, two collapsed lungs, a broken collar bone, broken elbow, and several bruises and skin abrasions.  And even though it was just a photo shoot, he was wearing every piece of protective gear possible which saved his life. Initially it was uncertain whether he would suffer debilitating long term consequences or not. It was uncertain whether he would graduate with his class and attend his summer fire academy program.

Miraculously, he was able to go back to school in time to graduate! He is on the road to a full recovery, with every intention of fulfilling his plans to be a firefighter.

Let's help this kid get some damn money together to get himself a  new truck and replace his stuff. Of all of my friends kids that I know personally, Jules has a special place in my heart. He is such a selfless, kind, generous young man. He deserves this. Let's help this family restore their faith in humanity. Let's let this be an opportunity for us all that, in the face of ugly behavior, there are more of us that are good, that are willing to help, and will not let bad behavior prevail!!!
