My name is Carey Lariscy Jr. I have been out of work for about 2 years now, dealing with amputated toes and bones from both feet due to diabetic ulcers and infections. I had sepsis that took its toll on me, and now I have another ulcer and MRSA. I have chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular issues. I have neuropathy in my hands and feet, I get dizzy often, and have fallen a few times. I am currently in a cast to help heal the ulcer, and I am lowering my blood sugar and A1C.

I recently got custody of my niece and nephew because 1. I have always said they are my babies and I love them, and 2. I didn't want them in any situation like what they were in for the last 10 years. Everything is catching up to us fast, and my wife's income is just paying the rent and a couple of the necessary things. I don't like asking anyone for a handout, so if you decide to help, understand I will want to pay it back, just might be a little at a time over time. Thank you very much for reading my story.
