Hello my name is Jackie and my husband Carey has been suffering from acute necrotizing pancreatitis. He has been in hospital since October 31. The stress of the medications as well as the sedation over the past 2 months has weakened his immune system to the point that his heart, lungs and liver have all taken a toll. Today, he under went surgery to have a stint put in his pancreas to drain the excess fluid and infection and we will later have to go back in for surgery to remove the gallbladder. He is now on daily heart medication as well as has developed type two diabetes. This journey is far from over and our healing within the family is going to take some time. Carey has not worked at all in this time and I have stepped away from working to take care of our family of four and to be with Carey as much as possible.
