My wonderful mother in law, Gayle Ann, has been married to her loving husband, Bill, for about 6 years now and during that time his alzheimers has progressed rapidly. He is now struggling enough that they are looking at the option of having a caregiver come around to help out and be able to give a break to Gayle Ann, who is not only taking care of Bill but her 97 year old father as well. She has a huge heart and is giving them so much time and energy but it is an exhausting reality. I really believe all three of them would benefit from her getting a day or two a week of relief and from the knowledge of a trained care provider. She has now sought out the help of a caregiving company but their insurance will only begin payment after the first 30 visits ( $100 a piece) have been paid out of pocket. Their current financial situation (social security) does not allow for that kind of an expense and neither of them are at a place to easily re-enter the workforce.
My heart is heavy for them as they wrestle with the financial stress and all the challenges of Alzheimers. If you are able to give a little to ease their burden it would be greatly appreciated and your prayers are coveted. This disease is so heartbreaking and they could really use some peace in this time. Thank you!
