Care Packages for Ukraine: The Sonste Foundation

Throughout high school I have worked with the Meaningful Teens organization and have co-established a chapter at my school. Our Engin program connects American students with Ukrainian students and allows them to connect, develop friendships, and learn more about culture. It has been heartbreaking to see our Ukrainian peers and friends endure such tragedy and chaos.

 

Personally, my own family comes from Ukraine, and I am very grateful to be in America where I am in a position to help others that are struggling. I therefore have been working to contribute all I can to support the people affected by the war. I have so far hosted 6 donation drives throughout my community and have collected over 400 bags and boxes of donations, and am anticipating even more. Originally, I started collecting donations within my own school, and as word spread, it has been amazing to see this community effort expand and create such an impact!

 

As I collect the final donations for my initial delivery, I am coordinating shipping efforts as an Ambassador to the BStrong Initiative. We will send donations to a distribution center in Florida, and then to Poland, where these supplies will be accessible to refugees. To make this delivery and future deliveries possible, we need monetary support. Through my up-and-coming 501c3 nonprofit organization, The Sonste Foundation, I am aiming to contribute physical and monetary donations to refugees of the war in Ukraine. In the future, we hope to provide educational resources for children in Ukraine through rebuilding schools and providing technology for remote learning. With your gracious contribution, I’m looking forward to continuing to support those abroad and fostering a generous sense of giving within the community!
