Caring Hands Outreach Center Inc operates as a bridge through which inner-city poor and needy, youth, seniors, the disabled, the homeless, hungry and other needy people could access available resources of the public. Our programs are designed to better the lives of those we serve.

As New York City continues to recover from the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, homelessness remains one of the most pressing challenges facing our communities. Although the public health emergency has ended, its economic and social impact continues through job loss, housing instability, and limited access to basic necessities for thousands of New Yorkers.

According to the New York State Comptroller, more than 158,000 New Yorkers experienced homelessness in 2024. Additionally, the Coalition for the Homeless reported that in October 2025, more than 102,000 individuals slept in NYC shelters each night, with thousands more living unsheltered in public spaces. These realities reflect both the lingering effects of the pandemic and ongoing affordability and workforce challenges.

As the need grows, so does the demand for basic, dignity-based resources. In response, Caring Hands Outreach Center remains committed to serving as a source of compassion, stability, and hope through our Annual Holiday Care Package initiative.

Each care package includes essential hygiene and wellness items—critical in a post-pandemic world where sanitation, health awareness, and self-care remain vital. These packages offer practical support while reminding recipients that they are seen, valued, and cared for.
