Care Kits for New Parents at Good Samaritan

Hi, my name is Koto, and I’m an 8th-grade student raising funds for my school community project. I’m putting together care packages for new parents at Good Samaritan Medical Center’s Labor & Delivery unit in Portland, Oregon.
Good Samaritan Medical Center is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, and its birth center is the oldest in the state of Oregon, opened in 1922. To honor this long history of caring for families, I want to support the parents who come through their doors today.
For my community project, I’m creating 15 care kits for families who may not have everything they need when their baby arrives. Each kit will include essential baby items such as burp cloths, flannels, swaddles, bottles, baby clothes, nail clippers, and more. I am working with the Labor & Delivery nurse managers at Good Samaritan to make sure these kits go directly to families who need a little extra help.
I chose this project because I want every baby and parent to feel supported, cared for, and prepared. Even small items can make a big difference during a stressful or unexpected time, and I want these families to know their community is behind them.
Your donation will go toward purchasing the supplies for each kit. Any amount helps — even $5 can provide an item a family truly needs. I will keep everyone updated as I collect supplies, assemble the kits, and deliver them to the hospital.
Thank you so much for supporting this project and helping families in our community.
