On the evening of December 21st, Greg Sizer was playing pickleball with his son and friends from church when he unexpectedly suffered a cardiac event. Those with him immediately began CPR, and he was transported by ambulance to AdventHealth Waterman. Despite every effort, Greg could not be revived.

It is with heavy hearts that we share this news. Greg was a beloved member of our church family and deeply involved in the Lake County community. His sudden passing has left his wife, Meranda, and their son, Noah, devastated—especially in the days leading up to Christmas. What was meant to be a normal evening together became a life-altering loss that no family is ever prepared to face.

More than anything, our desire is to support Meranda and Noah as they begin navigating life without Greg. They are experiencing the unimaginable weight of grief and loss, and we want to come alongside them with tangible help so they can focus on grieving, healing, and caring for one another.

This page may reach many who knew and loved Greg and his family, as well as others who may not know them personally. What compels us to act is the call of Jesus to care for one another. In John 13:34–35, Jesus says, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” In this spirit, we hope to be the hands and feet of Jesus to this family during their time of need.

This GoFundMe is being organized and managed by a staff member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church on behalf of the Sizer family. While the organizer serves on staff, all funds raised will be deposited directly into the family’s personal bank account and used solely to support their needs. Trinity Evangelical Free Church is not receiving, managing, controlling, or distributing any of the donations.

If you are able, we invite you to give generously. If you are not in a position to give, we ask that you would join us in prayer for Meranda and Noah during this incredibly difficult season. Thank you for showing compassion, care, and love to this family.
