Care for the Caregiver - Help for Lora

Donation protected
A few days after coming home from a fairly routine corrective surgery and hernia repair, Lora was rushed by ambulance to Sierra Nevada with a fever and horrible abdominal pain. Doctors performed a CT scan and ran blood work, finding that she had a bowel obstruction and was borderline septic. They life flighted her to Modesto, where her original surgery had been performed. After a few days in the hospital under observation, she took a turn for the worse. Her high fever, vomiting and abdominal pain returned and she had to undergo another surgery, this time removing 2 feet of infected intestines. Lora felt so much better after this surgery and was finally able to go home to her family on March 6th. Unfortunately, by March 10th, she started to have a sore throat and terrible pains around her shoulder blades, back and chest. On the morning of March 13th, she returned to the ER with a fever of 103.9. Lora was admitted with Multifocal Pneumonia, Influenza B and Sepsis and Acute Respiratory Failure.

Lora is finally home from the hospital but needs to rest and heal as much as possible. There will be lots of continued testing and x-rays needed over the next few months. Let's help get her back on her feet financially, after such a huge setback. She has been unable to work for almost 5 weeks, she had only planned on missing 7 days.

Lora cares for her disabled clients, her daughter Khloee, her community, and is foster mom to many animals. She is always thinking of everyone around her and is so deserving of help. Please share if you can’t donate, every little bit will help.
