Care for Snow the Lanson Cat
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Will and I run Wild Gifts in Launceston. I'm raising money to help care for Snow the Cat who has been living in the town centre. While Snow was very keen to help in the shop and visit as many places as possible, the town centre has many risks for a cat, and sadly a few days ago Snow was found lying injured under a bush.
We took Snow to Castle Vets in town who put Snow on the immediate care needed and ran an x-ray and tests to examine what turned out to be serious physical trauma to the area around the stomach and intestines. The vets believe that the injuries are likely to have been caused by a kick or similar physical impact.
Snow stayed at the vets overnight and is now receiving the care needed to recover from this trauma, the original owner was found after a search but as they are no longer available we've stepped in to look after Snow the Cat ourselves while he gets better, as you'll know if you've seen it in town it's a friendly and very affectionate cat that really didn't deserve what happened at all.
I'm starting the fundraiser to cover the initial medical costs for Snow's recovery, as so many people in the town have taken to him and seeing him around and about over the last few months... Animals both wild and domestic mean a huge amount to many people, and were one of the reasons Wild Gifts was created... Any additional funds will be used for ongoing care as Snow is currently on pain and inflammation medication as well as a course of antibiotics.
The good news already is that Snow appears to be making a steady recovery, and with care and support is getting back to his normal self though it's early stages... in recent days Snow has recovered his appetite and (unsurprisingly) is a firm fan of fish and trying to share whatever we're having as well... :)
Thanks already to Castle Vets Practice in Launceston who have taken good care of Snow and covered some of the medication expenses. Any donation at all is hugely appreciated and I am happy to mention any local businesses helping out, as there is such a strong local support for helping at times like these, and will keep everyone posted with progress. You are also most welcome to visit us Wild Gifts in town, which had become a regular haunt for Snow during the day, where he could show off all his customer service talents!
If we meet our target then any additional funds will be used for Snow's ongoing medical care and getting him sorted out for domestic life ahead, including being microchipped and neutered as well as the ongoing checkups while he recovers.
Thanks in advance for any kind support you can offer.
