Riley is a wonderful little lady who has been with me through thick and thin. Late in the night of December 18th, we noticed that her eye began swelling, and even later, that her other eye was also swollen. After a bit of deliberation, we decided to take her to the emergency vet.

While there, we were told that she may have Glaucoma in her right eye. While they were testing for that, a mass began to bleed in her mouth, and that had to be removed.

It was confirmed that she does have glaucoma in her eye and she does have a serious need of a disease in her gums that could spread elsewhere. It was also said that, because of another symptom (stress induced reverse-sneezing), she could have a tumor in her brain.

I don’t want her to needlessly suffer, but I also know that she still has such a long, joyful life left to live. I have owned her since I was nine years old and she was seven weeks old (we rescued her from a puppy mill).

Treatment for all of these things has been and will be very expensive. Treatment includes multiple eye drops a day (which I have already purchased and am administering) to keep the pressure of her eye down; because of the nature of glaucoma, it could still get much worse, and we may have to move forward with the removal of her eye. A full dental cleaning will also be very expensive, but it will hopefully help alleviate the pain she feels from lack of proper care on my part. We are still unsure what the exact treatment is for a possible tumor. We do not have a concrete price yet, but I’m starting the goal at $4,000, which is the minimum estimate of how much these future treatments will cost.

Anything helps. Thank you.
