Thank you so much for all your generous donations! We reached our goal in less than two weeks! Mimosa is on a waiting list for her treatment. She should be getting it in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, if you know of anyone who is looking for a kitty, she's a wonderful girl. If someone is interested in Fostering to Adopt, she can be in her new home until her treatment. Berkeley Animal Care Services will pay for her treatment. We'll even transport her to the clinic!
Mimosa is a sweet six-year-old calico/blue tabby kitty. She's been at the Berkeley Animal Care Services shelter since August 2022. She's been diagnosed as hyperthyroid. There's a cure for her, but the shelter can't afford the cost. Right now she gets medication twice a day to control her disease. She's been adopted twice and returned to the shelter because her new caregivers found it too difficult to give her her medicine. She's a favorite of the volunteers at the shelter. One volunteer had this to say about her: When I first met Mimosa, she was hiding at the back of her carrier, scared and shy. She's come such a long way from there to being the sweetest lap cat who will just fall asleep while you pet her! Mimosa is incredibly soft, gently playful, and chatty, which I absolutely love. She's a darling cat, and I'm so excited to see her potentially able to get this treatment, which has such a high success rate! Don't tell the other cats, but she's secretly my favorite at BACS." That's my testimonial for Mimosa!
We need your help getting this charming girl the treatment to cure her disease so she can find her forever home. Please give as much, or as little, as you can. Your donation will go to Friends of Berkeley Animal Care Services, a 501c(3) organization, so it is tax deductible. Thanks for your help!
