Mike Anderson is widely regarded as a founding force in sport karate and kickboxing. A champion competitor, instructor, promoter, publisher, and rulemaker, he helped shape modern point karate, full-contact karate, and kickboxing while producing major events around the world. From launching pioneering tournaments and helping standardize protective gear to co-producing the World Professional Karate Championships and building kickboxing into a major spectator sport, his impact on martial arts is difficult to overstate. Now, at 84 years old and in hospice, the man who gave so much to others needs our support. This is a chance for the kickboxing and martial arts community to give back to someone who gave decades of his life to helping athletes succeed. Any donation, large or small, is a way to honor Mike Anderson’s legacy and stand beside him and his family during this difficult time.
