On November 14th, 2018 there was a life changing accident. After a late night visit to family in northern BC hoping the rain and fog would pass, my girlfriend started her 2 hour journey home Unlike here there isn’t cell service everywhere we go so I was left to wait on her call that she arrived home.
I had fallen asleep and woken up 6 hours later to no call or texts.. The day went on with no contact. As night fell, I received a call letting me know my girlfriend had been in a serious car accident and is currently in the hospital. 12 hours pass before I actually speak with her and hear what happened.
A moose had charged out from the side of the road causing her to steer away from it but wasn’t quick enough and the moose clipped the side of her car flipping it into the ditch, unable to be seen by passers by.
She spent 2 hours hanging upside down fighting with her seatbelt as the car slowly submerged into the rivine that created the ditch. Cars rarely passed by as she used every ounce of strength to free herself and escape then it took another 2 hours to wave down some for help.
Unfortunatly the rural community where she is from in Northern BC does not have access to sufficient health care, everything is very limited all down to doctors. She was seen at Terrace Mill’s Memorial Hospital, who gave her a few Tylenol 3’s and sent her in her way unable to move without assistance.
Due to these circumstances I had no choice but to fly her back to Toronto to receive proper medical care. I am asking for financial support in this difficult time as I am sole support with one income.
