As some of you may have heard, our dear, loving Janine is battling a rare form of cancer that has progressed quickly. As always, she is a fighter, but she has reached a point where – per the guidance of doctors and nurses – she is in need of 24/7 care.

All of her family are by her side and trying to make sure she is receiving the best care to keep her comfortable, and over the past couple of weeks, Janine has been seen by a number of doctors and supportive nurses. Last week, she transitioned from the ICU to the Bruns House – a hospice facility in the area. The Bruns House is a great place for her, and she seems very comfortable. She loves all of the caring nurses, who are getting a kick out of her ever-present playful sense of humor, and she has a room that allows the family to wheel her bed right outside into the beautiful garden.

As expected, all of this wonderful care and attention comes with a cost, and many kind people have asked how they can support.
The family is so grateful for any thoughts and prayers, and if you’d like to contribute financially, feel free to do so here. If you’d like another way to donate, please contact Joel at [email redacted].

It’s hard to see a loved one facing such a challenge, but the family is enjoying these days being together -- reminiscing, singing, laughing, and playing. Janine is leading the charge with her joy and positivity, rather than fear and worry. We invite everyone to follow her lead.
Janine and her family are finding comfort in these words from the Christian Science hymnal, which encapsulate Janine's big heart, adventurous spirit, and loving, giving way of life:
Come, walk with Love along the way,
Let childlike trust be yours today;
Uplift your thought, with courage go,
Give of your heart's rich overflow,
And peace shall crown your joy-filled day.
Come, walk with Love along the way.
(Hymn. 139:3)
