I am raising funds for my good friend, Keith Pretlow and his mom, Janet D. Slaughter. I’ve known Keith for over fifteen years. We went to college together, and I know the kind of man he is because of the woman who raised him. He is a principal of a middle school in Philadelphia, an Army veteran, and a great man.
Yesterday, on January 26, 2026, Janet experienced a house fire that changed everything in an instant. What should have been a normal day quickly became an emergency, leaving her with unexpected loss and immediate needs.
We are incredibly thankful that she is safe, but the fire has created real challenges, including temporary housing, replacing everyday essentials, and covering expenses.
Janet (as we see expressed through Keith as well) is someone who has always shown strength, generosity, and care for others. Now she finds herself in a season where she needs that same care extended to her. We are coming together as friends and community to help carry this burden so she doesn’t have to face it alone.
If you are able to give, any amount will make a real difference. If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this fundraiser and keeping Janet and Keith in your prayers and thoughts means more than you know.
We are trusting God in this moment and asking for His goodness yet again.
