Hello, my name is Taylor Smith, and I am a mom to a 1 1/2-year-old and to 2 beautiful Pomeranian babies. Hazel is 7 years old, and we have had her since she was born. My husband currently owns his own construction business with his brother, and I have worked at JCPenney for the last 7 years. We both work very hard to help others, provide for our family, and always give back.
Unfortunately, on April 26th, my baby Hazel was hit by a vehicle on the highway. My husband was walking her as he does, and something spooked her enough to yank out of her collar (which she has never done) and bolt straight across the highway. When she did, she tumbled under the car, and I think that’s what saved her. Hazel has a concussion and minor liver damage. She is on lots of medication right now for comfort and to monitor her liver. We have a long road of recovery ahead of us, and this was, of course, very unexpected after moving into our new home. Money is slim right now; I’m sure everyone can understand. We never want to ask for help, but I also will not allow my family to go without or struggle. Hazel's vet bill is just a little under $3,000. I will post receipts. I was able to put it on my credit card but unfortunately maxed it out, and of course, interest will be charged. I am beyond blessed that I was able to take our baby to the hospital and able to make payments. God will always make a way, and he saved my girl; we will figure the rest out.
I will be sharing our Amazon Wish List as well for the new house, as repairs and needs will be put to a pause until I can pay this vet bill off. If you can’t donate and would like to purchase a household item on my list, that would be greatly appreciated as we still have lots to do, but taking care of Hazel and my son is number 1 right now. I am beyond blessed for the family and friends that I have to support us during this difficult time. Making a GoFundMe was not something I ever wanted to do, but I am extremely grateful and blessed for a platform and community that always comes together
