Guini started breathing rapidly on December 21st. This was a huge concern because she already has an enlarged heart and heart murmur, so we rushed her to the emergency vet. We were told that her lungs were filled with fluid which is a main sign of heart failure. She was given oxygen, medication, and needed to stay overnight to get the care that she needed. This also included being seen by a cardiologist who gave her an echocardiogram. She reacted positively to the care she received, and we feel blessed that she came home. We did everything we could to make sure she was comfortable and everything came to approximately $5000. Guini is going to need increased care, and we want to focus on her recovery. We would greatly appreciate your generosity. Anything from $5 to sharing our gofundme would be a tremendous help to us.
Guini has HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy). Her heart is larger than it should be, and her heart struggles to fill with blood properly to pump it to the rest of her body. She had an episode that led to the fluid in her lungs. This means that she needs to take more medication in the long-term and will need more frequent echocardiograms.
