In December 2024, Franklin very suddenly went blind due to Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome. SARDS is an untreatable, irreversible autoimmune condition that causes complete loss of electrical activity of the retina. Since this diagnosis, he has experienced ongoing issues with his metabolic function; most recently, a blocked hepatic duct that caused swelling in the liver and lots of pain.

Fortunately, we have found that everything can be managed with medication and he doesn't need any surgery. Unfortunately, veterinary ophthalmologists, oncologists, and internal specialists are very expensive!

Any amount you can spare to help offset these healthcare costs would go a long way to support this brave little Cardigan Corgi. Thank you so much for your help!
