Care for Edyn, Iyla, and Arya Shepard

Story

This is my daughter Danielle and her boyfriend Jake. Earlier this year they found out she was expecting. She began this pregnancy extremely sick as a Type 1 Diabetic and ended up in the ICU at Riverside Hospital at 7 weeks along for Diabetic ketoacidosis. While there an ultrasound was done and it was discovered that there was not 1 baby... not 2 babies.... but 3!!! Thats right!! Spontaneous triplets!!! In the beginning they thought 2 of the babies might have been conjoined so they were immediately sent to the university of chicago medicine for care. The babies ended up not being conjoined but they do share a sac and placenta without a deviding membrane. This means that the twins cords were already intertwined which is extremely risky. At any point in time the babies could tighten that entanglement and they would not survive. Because of this they have had weekly ultrasound appointments along with numerous other appointments in regards to the children. At their 20 week scan they discovered baby C had enlarged ventricles in her brain. She will need brain surgery to correct this soon after birth. It is unclear the exact cause of this extra fluid until she is born so the exact course of action is still unknown until she is delivered and big enough to get an MRI to determine the exact cause. Her outcome will not be known either. She could never walk, talk, breath on her own, ect or she could be as "normal" as you and I. It is really just a wait and see situation. Shortly after this it was found that all 3 babies were not growing as well as could be and Dr's decided that they needed to go for ultrasounds twice a week to monitor their growth and baby c's ventricles even closer. Danielle has made it to 30 weeks now and has been on bed rest in chicago since 28 weeks. They have decided to deliver the babies on November 16th via cesarean. Here's where they need your help! Parking at the hospital is very expensive! Gas is very expensive! Jake has had to miss multiple days of work to be there in the case of devastating news which could happen in the blink of an eye!! His job has made it fairly difficult to miss days at this point so in order to keep some kind of income coming in and be able to be their for his children he has recently had to temporarily reduce hours to a part time position. It is expected that the babies will be in the NICU at very minimum until the new year begins and baby c will have many more visits to the hospital even after she is discharged. They obviously did not plan for 3 babies let alone expect such a difficult pregnancy. They need all the help they can get to be able to be there as much as possible before and after the birth of these miracle babies! If you can help at all it would be greatly appreciated. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help we receive even if all you can give is shares and prayers ❤️
