Care For Colby Corbett

Raising money for beloved newly weds! Being the parent of newly weds, I empathize greatly with Colby Corbett’s story. A strong Christian couple that needs our love, support and prayers due to a brain tumor, multiple surgeries and a long journey ahead. Colby is currently at the Shepherd Center but his surgeries and treatment began over two months ago. He and his bride Emily have been strong and are glorifying God with their story on Caring Bridges. We appreciate any support for our dear friends. Comments from Colby’s bride and his Caring Bridges page below:
Colby began experiencing frequent headaches over the past 6 months or so but they intensified greatly from Easter, April 21, 2019, on. On April 26, 2019, he was in a work meeting in Atlanta and had to leave because they were so unbearable. He decided to drive back to Peachtree City and go to Urgent care. He had seen this doctor at urgent care before (for what he thought was strep a few months ago) and she immediately became concerned about his symptoms and sent him for a CT scan at an outpatient imaging center. They were able to get him in at 2 pm the same day (THANK YOU JESUS). We had only been home about 15 minutes when we got the call from the urgent care doctor that there, indeed, was something on the CT scan and to go to Piedmont Fayette Emergency room as soon as possible. Once we got to Piedmont Fayette the ER doctor came in and further explained what exactly was found on the CT scan, which was a fairly large mass on his brain. He wanted us to immediately go to Piedmont Atlanta by ambulance, but Colby wanted to go eat at his favorite restaurant before we made our trek to Atlanta. Thankfully, they gave us some time to go eat and let me drive him myself to Atlanta. The radiologists at Piedmont Atlanta completed a MRI scan in the wee hours on Saturday. The neurosurgeon and neuro-oncologist came in later on Saturday morning and let us take a look at the MRI and they further decided that they would feel more comfortable sending us to Emory because of the depth and location of the mass. So, now we are at Emory and will have a biopsy of the mass on Tuesday morning.
We are so grateful for the prayers and well wishes that have been sent our way. We figured we would start this page to keep all of our friends and family updated and to express our gratitude for the wonderful support that we have already been shown over the past two days. This a journey we never thought we would face, but my man is strong and he is going to fight his hardest battle against this bully. We have truly come into contact with some of the best doctors and nurses that have made us a priority and gotten things moving quickly. Thank you, again, for all of your prayers. We serve a great God that is the ultimate physician and we have faith that he will get us through this.
