Mississippi, the beloved calico companion of poet, activist and Current Affairs Administrative Maven Cate Root, is facing an unexpected health crisis.

What started out as listlessness and a disinclination to eat ended in a trip to the emergency vet and a three-night hospital stay. It turns out Mississippi has a kidney disorder and may need further treatment.
