Care for CAR

Hey guys! Sara here. Well, once again, not in the way that I thought or in my own timing, I am headed back to the Central African Republic this summer to continue work within a community to partner with their school, orphanage, medical center, & local leaders.

Just a little background on the area is that the Central African Republic was destroyed by war, terrorism, and extreme violence from about 2012-2014. This is where many families were torn apart, people were displaced, & resources were shortened. Little to no help was given, & many children were left without a home. This is where an orphanage began, to give these children a safe place to feel loved, be ministered to, & cared for as all children should.

But it didn't stop there. People had a dream to give these children a quality education, & medical care. That is when the school was opened & the medical clinic planning began. Now as both are running, the quality of life not just for the children, but the entire community has improved greatly. People are given hope & healing through their basic needs being met. Children are receiving an education that plays a significant part in the futures. Not only that, but they are grateful, excited, & passionate about receiving an education.

As the educational technical director of the school, I will continue to educate & coach in the areas of teacher professional development, as well as trauma care. Incredible changes continue to be made each year. Higher student achievement, a new school lunch program, greater awareness &  care administered to students with trauma, staff professional development, & expansion for more educational opportunities are some of the beautiful things going on in the school.
As I am doing this work through a nonprofit, I am currently in the fundraising process to afford to go, & have some great t-shirt options! The cost of the trip that I am asking for support for is $3000. This is a big goal, but I know God is far bigger & always paves the way.
