Hi Everyone—
Aleea and I are hoping for help with the growing vet bill for our cat Mercutio (or “Beanie” as we usually call him).
A couple of weeks ago, we noticed behavioral changes in Beanie and, after trial and error vet visits, hoping to find a cause, we ended up at the emergency vet for an abdominal ultrasound, yesterday.
The ultrasound showed a thickening in the wall of Beanie’s intestine which could be indicative of either Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) or Small Cell Lymphoma. However, the only definitive test is to have his intestine biopsied.
The biopsy will alone will cost us between $5,000-7,000. Then, depending if it is IBD or lymphoma, Beanie will need treatment including a new diet, steroids, or potentially chemotherapy.
Unfortunately, between vet visits, testing, and medications up to this point, we have exhausted a large portion of our financial resources.
We are hoping to raise money for the biopsy to find out exactly what our next steps are to help our kitty.
Beanie is a 5 year-old Russian Blue cat (miraculously hypoallergenic for me, who is allergic!) and we have had him since he was only 4 weeks old.
He is an extremely special cat to us, and we want him to live a long, healthy life.
If you are able to contribute anything or even share this with others, that would be so immensely helpful.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider helping us and Beanie.
Love,
Sameenah Piel
