I’m Heather. My best friend’s daughter, Ava, was tragically hit by a car on October 20th while riding her scooter. She had to be careflighted to Cincinnati Children’s to have emergency surgery to stop the internal bleeding and remove her kidney, which was crushed in the impact! During surgery, they realized her spine was broken and her ACL torn. The most important thing is that she’s alive. She has a very high hill to climb, though. As does her mom! She’s gonna miss work for the foreseeable future, as well as a lot of eating out, as they are 50 minutes from home. Anything will help!
