Annette Bowman is one of the kindest, most dedicated people you'll ever meet. For nearly 20 years, she started as a Staff Coordinator at Home Instead in Granville, Ohio, and rose to become President of multiple Home Instead franchises across Ohio and Kentucky. She built teams, uplifted caregivers, and touched countless lives with her warmth, leadership, and unwavering compassion.
Four weeks ago, everything changed. Annette suffered a severe stroke and is now fighting to recover in a skilled nursing facility. Just as she began making progress, her devoted husband Craig was hospitalized with a pulmonary embolism and spent time in the ICU. This double blow has been heartbreaking for this loving couple who have always supported others.
Annette's insurance has denied coverage for intensive inpatient therapy (the recommended 3 hours per day), leaving her with only about 30 minutes of daily therapy—far too little for meaningful recovery. Without more intensive support, progress stalls, and the window for optimal gains narrows.
That's why we're turning to you. A groundbreaking local program called NeuroAnimation in New Albany, Ohio, offers a 3-week high-intensity bootcamp (3 hours/day, 5 days/week) specifically designed for severe stroke recovery. Using immersive, game-like technology, it promotes actual brain growth, restores movement, improves cognition, and boosts independence—outcomes that traditional therapy often can't match for chronic or severe cases. Testimonials show survivors regaining hand function, walking without aids, and reclaiming sharp thinking years after their strokes.
This private-pay program is Annette's best shot at accelerating recovery, but it's out of reach without help. We'll also need funds for essential home care services when she returns home to ensure safe, supported independence. And there is also great concern for the medical bills they're soon to receive.
Annette has given so much to her community—now it's our turn to give back. Every donation, no matter the size, brings her closer to walking stronger, speaking clearer, and living more fully again. Even $10 or $25 adds up quickly and means the world.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering Annette—one of the most wonderful humans we know. Your generosity could change her future.
With hope and gratitude,
Amy
