My mother has always been the heart of our family.
She is the kind of woman who gives without ever keeping score. As a mother, she has loved endlessly and sacrificed quietly. As a daughter and friend, she has shown up with loyalty, patience, and compassion. And as a caregiver, she has devoted her life to caring for the sick, the elderly, and children who needed safety and tenderness. She has spent years sitting beside hospital beds, preparing meals for families in need, offering comfort during painful moments, and carrying other people’s burdens as if they were her own.
Caring for others isn’t just something she does — it is who she is.
Now, she is the one who needs care.
Over the past few years, my mother has been battling a serious lung condition. Doctors have identified fibrotic changes in her lungs, meaning scar-like tissue has formed inside them. This makes it harder for her lungs to expand properly and deliver oxygen to her body. Gradually, everyday activities became more exhausting. Walking short distances, speaking for too long, or completing simple household tasks began to leave her breathless.
Even through this, she continued to care for others. She rarely complained. She pushed through her discomfort with strength and grace.
Recently, her condition became critical when she developed a severe case of pneumonia. Because her lungs were already compromised by fibrosis, the infection hit her much harder. She began struggling to breathe without oxygen support and became extremely weak and fatigued. Pneumonia in someone with underlying lung fibrosis is especially dangerous, as their lungs do not have normal capacity to recover quickly.
She now requires continuous oxygen, close monitoring, IV medications, respiratory therapy, and hospital admission to stabilize and recover safely.
Unfortunately, the cost of private hospitalization and specialized care is overwhelming for our family & my self as her daughter who hasn’t had a stable income since I’ve become her full time caregiver. We were asked for a large upfront payment for admission, which we simply did not have. We have borrowed money from friends and family to secure immediate treatment, but ongoing care is beyond what we can manage alone.
My mother has spent her life lifting others up in their most vulnerable moments. Now, we are asking for help to lift her.
Every donation will go directly toward:
• Hospital admission and stay
• Oxygen therapy and respiratory treatments
• IV antibiotics and medications
• Specialist evaluations and monitoring
• Continued care needed for her lung condition
If you cannot donate, sharing this page would mean so much to us.
We believe that with proper medical care, oxygen support, and continued treatment, she has a real chance to recover from this pneumonia and stabilize her lung condition.
Thank you for reading her story. Thank you for your prayers, kindness, and generosity during this incredibly difficult time.
With love and gratitude,
Her daughter Ana
