Care Closet for Elementary School

Hi. My name is Kelly. I’m a mom of 2 that simply noticed a need. I’m starting a Care Closet at my son’s elementary school.

He goes to a Title 1 school; which is a federal program that provides funds to schools and school districts serving high numbers of economically disadvantaged children.

A care closet is a FREE resource provided for students and their families who are experiencing hardships: food insecurity, lack of weather-appropriate clothing, basic hygiene supplies, school supplies, etc. I will be purchasing all of the supplies they may need to make their day successful. Whether it be a winter hat, an extra snack or a stick of deodorant. They will be able to access what they need, in the comfort of our care closet.
