Support for Pablo's Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Hello friends,
Following a colonoscopy performed in December, our dad, Pablo, was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. Currently, the cancer is confined to his colon and has not spread to other organs.
Our dad needs chemotherapy and radiation to reduce the size of the tumor. Then, doctors will perform surgery to remove the tumor, possibly requiring a colostomy.
For the last 2+ years, our parents have been waiting for permanent residency status to move from Mexico to the U.S. and live near some of their children and their first grandkid. They received their green cards just a few weeks before the diagnosis. Their move to the U.S. is scheduled for late January and our dad will begin treatment in the U.S. immediately following their move.
Extra support would tremendously help our dad prioritize his treatment while he and our mom look for jobs, and resources, and get settled in a new country.
Our goal is to raise $30,000, which would cover the expense of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Any extra funds will help cover a portion of our parents' living expenses over the next few months as our dad will be limited in his availability and ability to work during treatment, and our mother, his main caregiver, may be limited too.
Our dad is the most resilient and hard-working person we know. He is optimistic and full of hope and determination to fight this disease. Thank you for considering helping him overcome this illness so he can continue living a meaningful life. We are deeply grateful for the support.
