In the early morning hours of October 26, Cody Chastain was involved in a horrific accident. He was on his way home from work at his job at H-E-B in Austin to Bastrop when a car turned the wrong way and headed west in an east bound lane striking Cody head-on. Cody was trapped in the car and suffered horrendous injuries before emergency rescue could get there and remove him from the vehicle. He suffered severe burns over 52% of his body. Additional injuries include a compound femur fracture, arm fractures, a spinal injury, smoke inhalation, and a severe laceration where the seatbelt cut open his abdomen causing internal damage and internal bleeding with surgery for removal of a section of his intestine. Later, they did surgery on his leg, as well as surgery for his burns. He has since had additional procedures, including one in which they discovered the tissue on his leg was dying. In short, he is in rough shape, but he is fighting. Please be in prayer for him and the family for the coming days.

Unfortunately, with this fight comes numerous bills and monetary needs. His wife works in the bakery at H-E-B as well and has taken time off to be at Cody's side. With their source of income being staggered, they will be in need of assistance, and that's why I am making this GoFundMe for them. They come from a family of people in law enforcement as well as military. Cody is a hard worker and very much loved by his family. Please be in prayer, even if you are not able to donate. Cody and Angelica both have a long fight ahead of them. We know God's presence is hard to be seen in situations like this, but we have faith that He is working.

Update:They have updated the burn percentage to 65% of his body and they are close monitoring a brain injury. Currently the burn surgeries are their top priority and he has had his third burn surgery.
