Care and Coffee. Help Rob & Angie in the recovery journey.

Donation protected
As many of our friends and family know, Rob has been on a journey to obtain a lung transplant. That call came on Jan. 24, 2025. Rob and Angie are currently at the Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids being cared for by the Lung Transplant Clinic. Rob will be hospitalized for 3-6 weeks. During that time, visitors will be very limited as he fights to regain strength and remain free of any infection and illness. After release, he will still be quarantined for 30 days with weekly appointments in Grand Rapids. Angie plans to remain at the hospital or near him as much as humanly possible.

Many have asked what can be done to help. It's hard because of restrictions and the nature of his recovery.

In talking with Angie, there are a few things that could help:
1). Just keep checking in.
2). Small donations to assist in paying for a good cup of coffee, a lunch, a tank of gas. Hospital food gets very monotonous and eating out is expensive. If you donate some dollars for a coffee, a Diet Coke, a bowl of soup, etc., Angie said she will feel like she's enjoying that break with a friend or family member. In exchange, Angie will do her best to send messages and posts about her day and share in her 'coffee.'

As Rob recovers and they get beyond all this, Rob and Angie would LOVE a gathering of friends and family at the lake. Take in a boat ride, a bonfire, a quiet visit on the deck, a night of cards, a shared meal, a peaceful sunset, etc. These are the days and dreams that keep them pressing forward.
