Please join us in supporting the adoption of a Cardiac Alert Medical Dog for Madeleine! Diagnosed with Ehler-Danlos Syndrome and Postural Orthistatic Tachycardia Syndrome, everyday activities can put her safety at risk. In 2016, Madeleine sustained a brain injury that was the result of misdiagnosis. After nearly 8 years of fighting for some answers, Madeleine now has a diagnosis and a plan. With a medical alert dog, Madeleine can be warned about changes in blood pressure or heart arrhythmias, avoiding any further physical traumas. Medical alert dogs are also training in a multitude of supportive tasks like retrieving medication, mobility support when out and about, and finding help when necessary. The first 8,000 will be used to initiate the necessary training, and the following funds are due at graduation of the program.
About Madeleine: She enjoys hiking and being outdoors in true Oregonian style. An avid past participant in the Sherwood Marching Band and receiving the title of 2015 Maid Marion, Madeleine has grown up active in her community. All of this is to say thanks to the people she grew up with! ❤️ Madeleine graduated from PSU in 2022 with a B.S in Biology and is now working in small animal medicine and non-profit shelter administration.
Update: 01/01/24
We officially have a puppy pick-up date - April 2nd! Madeleine will be traveling to Florida to meet Percy and the team who has been teaching and training him, and then he comes home with Madeleine to the PNW the next week!
