Cardiac Ablation For My Father.

Hello, I am setting up this GoFundMe to try to help my parents pay for my father to have a cardiac ablation.

Steve Sanders has been a preacher for over 40 years. His faith and his family are the cornerstones of his life. There is no medical insurance for most preachers and that is how we ended up here.

Eight years ago a virus attacked Dad's heart and he nearly died. There was even talk of a heart transplant, IF he made it through. Thanks to the many, many prayers, he did make it and has had 8 years of reasonably good health.

Recently, he started feeling tired and just not feeling normal. His cardiology appointment showed that he now had A-fib. The first suggested treatment was to have a cardio version, which was performed on Monday, October 16th. It worked and we were so excited, but six days later, he was back in A-Fib again. His cardiologist now believes that a cardiac ablation is necessary. The hospital gives a 50% discount for private pay patients, but they require 50% of that amount to be paid up front before the procedure is performed. Total cost for the procedure is $36,700, with over $18,000 needed as a down payment.

Normally, we would save and work to make this happen over time, but for each month Dad is in A-fib the chances of the procedure correcting the rhythm of his heart drops by 5%. As of now he has about a 70% chance of returning to normal. Plus, his cardiologist is leaving Cape Girardeau at the end of the year. Needless to say we are doing what we can to ensure that he gets this treatment, as soon as possible.
