Carden Family

On Tuesday, July 17 Ashley Carden was rushed to the hospital in Milton where she was diagnosed with an aneurysm. They were attempting to treat what they said was a small aneurysm with medications. By the next day, Ashley had suffered yet another aneurysm and was then rushed to Sacred Heart. She immediately underwent emergency surgery to correct them both. It took the surgeon approximately 10 hours to correct these. Jake (her husband) came home as fast as he could. He was working offshore at the time this had all taken place. The surgeon has said Ashley is very lucky to be alive and was extremely fortunate to make it to the hospital, she had been suffering for approximately a week with the first aneurysm that was found. During the surgery it was apparent she has several stroke areas in her brain as well. The surgery went as well as it possibly could have in her case. Their family has been absolutely devastated. Jake and Ashley also have a 3 year old son named Waylon. He is in the care of close family during this time. Ashley will remain in the hospital for a minimum of two weeks depending upon her recovery and we are told this will be a long recovery for them. Although they have health insurance, they will still need help covering all of these expenses. Jake has said he will not be leaving his wife’s side. As very close friends and with my husband being like a brother to Jake, we are asking for help from their friends, our friends and the community.
