HELP US HELP OUR ARTISANS - THE HEART AND SOUL OF CARAVANA
Dear CARAVANA Community
As you know, we have now temporarily closed all our stores due to the current global health situation. And as we continue to navigate the scale and impact of COVID-19, we have now made the decision to temporarily close our factory too, in order to keep our team safe and to respect the latest local government safety regulations. Like many other businesses in the area, we are saddened to have to take these measures but the health and wellbeing of our customers and our employees remains our greatest priority.
These challenging times have had a tremendous effect on everyone, including our team. We currently have 148 artisans, plus several local producers and trade suppliers that we consider our CARAVANA family. We are doing everything we can to support our artisans through this crisis until we can open our doors again. However the reality remains that the local health resources available are minimal and unlike the USA, UK or other countries, Mexico has as yet not put in place a COVID-19 bailout plan.
As a result we have established the CARAVANA ARTISAN FUND to help support the welfare of our artisans and their families in the midst of these unprecedented times. The fund will provide them with food, water, health supplies and additional support. We aim to raise USD $10,000 by the end of April. With this in mind, we will be donating 25% of net sales from all purchases made at www.caravana.land directly to the CARAVANA ARTISAN FUND. You can also support by donating here. The fund has been seeded by founder Jacopo Janniello and our Executive Team and every dollar will go directly to the families of our employees who have been impacted by this COVID-19 crisis. $40 can provide an individual with food and water for a month. Any amount will be gratefully received. Please help us achieve this critical goal.
Sometimes we forget how much one can influence and shape the future of others. Well, this is one of those moments.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our incredible family of artisans and our management team for their dedication and hard work. The Caravana journey would not be possible without their devotion, wholehearted support and love for Caravana.
Our artisans create shields of beauty and love to protect us. It is now our responsibility to protect them.
