CARA's MOUNT EVEREST MATHS CHALLENGE

Hi, I'm Cara Darmody, the girl that sat the Junior Cycle Maths exam last year while only 11 years old to raise funds for two schools that so badly needed help to pay for therapy services for children with special needs, and then got my result of 97% live on The Late Late Show!!! I have two brothers who are severely autistic and non-verbal, Neil (10) and John (6). I try and do the talking for them. My journey gathered national headlines, and I appeared on national TV and radio on many occasions to highlight the disgraceful waiting lists that presently exist in our Country for people with disabilities. I have separately met both the Taoiseach and Tánaiste in an effort to bring change - unfortunately, I do not see that change happening at present. I promised the Taoiseach that I would be back if change did not occur. That is why I AM BACK WITH A BANG!!!

I will now be sitting the ordinary level LEAVING CERTIFICATE MATHS EXAM for two named charities who are supporting me in every way possible - Scoil Chormaic Special School in Cashel Co. Tipperary and my local school of Ardfinnan NS. My aim is to bring about real and lasting change for all children with disabilities who are being forced to wait on waiting lists. I will not stop until I succeed.

My promise to you as a donor is that every single penny that you donate will go towards helping those who need care the most. Your donation will also send a clear message to this Government that this charity (and me!!!) must to be listened to.
