This is my best friend, Cara Duncan with my son Austin. 
Eight years ago, this month, she underwent a quintuple bypass heart surgery. 5 months later she had 5 stents put in her body.
Let me give you some history about Cara.
She is 50 years old. She has been married for 30 years and is a grandma. 
I met Cara right after my son was born, almost 19 years ago. I 'adopted' myself into her family. Cara has been there for me through so much, always giving of herself. She has the heart for kindness and giving on the level of a dozen, at minimum, healthy hearts. She will help anyone she can and asks nothing in return.
She is now in the Cardiac Unit in the hospital. She has interstitial cystitis with ulcers  and was admitted because she was critical. This was on Tuesday, 4/27/17. She suffered a heart attack on Wednesday evening while at the hospital, 4/29/17. She coded in the hospital, and her daughter and I heard the code called - very scary and nothing at all like  the TV shows depict.  The doctors were able to get her heart pumping again. She was in ICU for 3 days, intubated and with a pump to assist her heart. It is a miracle she is alive!!
She needs several months to heal and she does not have any sick or vacation time left. She used that dealing with her interstitial cystitis and two previous ablation procedures having to do with her IC (interstitial cystitis).
Cara and her husband can not afford her medical expenses, after insurance, and everyday expenses are impossible to meet without Cara working full-time.
The Duncan's are a beautiful, giving, loving family. They need any assistance you feel you can give or feel drawn to give.
