Car Accident Recovery

On April 25, 2017, I was invlolved in a serious car accident in downtown Phoenix. I was on my way to teach yoga and was at the intersection of 7th Street and Jefferson, when a large SUV struck the drivers side of my car, traveling over 40mph.

I was rushed to Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, where I received medical treatment for multiple broken ribs, a fractured pelvis, in four different places, and a fracuted sacrum.  After one week I was then transferred to a rehabilitation center where I spent the next six weeks relearning how to walk again and how to do simple daily tasks, such as dressing myself.

I have a long recovery road ahead and have not been able to work and support myself during this difficult time. My medical bills are piling up and my car was completely totaled in the accident.

I am reaching out to my community, with humility, for support during this unexpected hardship in my life.

I am 77 years old, and I am a retired TWA Flight attendant. I became a certified Hatha Yoga instructor in 2001 and began teaching yoga all over Phoenix, Arizona, in various studios for the last 15 years. I am deeply saddened that I have not been able to return to my love of teaching yoga, but I am optimistic for the future and so very grateful to be alive.

Any donation you can spare to extend on this journey of recovery would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much.

With gratitude,

Gladys
