Cara’s Life-Body, Soul-is at Risk!
INSURANCE REFUSES TO PAY $15,000 THIS YEAR FOR A DRUG THAT COULD SAVE MY DAUGHTER’S LIFE!
Cara’s suffering has reached a dangerous stage, a crisis. She has been hospitalized twice in the past two months, as she deals with
life-threatening situations. Cara is, as ever, courageous, determined, and faithful throughout her struggles with multiple complex issues and diagnoses, both physical and emotional. Currently, her Treatment Resistant Depression has become overwhelming in its intensity!
Cara has undergone 6 major surgeries for physical problems. For more than 25 years, as child and adult, she has, under the direction of good and caring doctors and therapists, been prescribed dozens of medications and modalities for migraines, depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and other diagnoses. Short hospitalizations were required at least 12 times. Some of the medicines and procedures have been state-of-the-art, and have offered brief relief, so that Cara might pursue her dreams, and her life’s goals. Some have generated serious and frightening negative side effects. Cara has participated in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), ECT (Electroconvulsive [Shock] Therapy), TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation), Spravato (a nasal variant of Ketamine), and Ketamine (intravenous) Infusions.
The Ketamine infulsions helped!!! For almost 4 months, Cara was smiling! The cost for the many installments in the Ketamine Infusion protocol is approximately $500 per dose. Help from family and friends, tens of thousands of dollars in loans and credit card debt, could not keep pace. Without necessary maintenance treatments, the demons returned.
With 2 years of a 3.7 GPA, Cara has had to defer her goal of a college degree. With certification as a Peer Support Specialist, Cara’s passion to serve others has been tragically thwarted. It is devastating – perhaps impossible – to live without dreams. A therapist told Cara, “I’ll hold your dreams in my hands until you are able to reclaim them.”
PLEASE, help provide the funds required to enable Cara to live, to reclaim her dreams and her purpose in life! In the throes of an illness defined by hopelessness, Cara has retained her Hope. She clings to the Faith that with her perseverance, and with the help of friends, she will succeed. Cara is fierce in her Love and loyalty to all her family and friends. She is my Hero. Please help!
