On August 30, my dear friend Cara Seekell, was involved in a horse accident while riding.  This is a request to wonderful family and friends to help Cara and her family get through some of the immediate expenses of loss of income as well as long term medical bills. With no medical insurance and Cara’s injuries limiting her ability to work at her home-based graphics business for some time, the family could use our financial support.  Cara has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know as shown with her successfully finding homes for many horses through her non-profit Montana Mustang Connection and Rescue.

Cara was thrown off the horse she was riding landing on her head, neck, and shoulder.  We all know how tough Cara is and we immediately knew she sustained serious injuries.  They include a broken collar bone, broken ribs and a bruised lung - all on her right side. At this time and with luck no surgery will be needed. Her medical expenses will include her EMS rescue, initial work-up at Deer Lodge Medical Center, a life flight from Deer Lodge to Missoula, care while at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula and follow up appointments.

There will be a lot of strain and stress on Cara and her family in the immediate future; as well as long term due to medical bills.
