Michelle needs help with her car - please give!

Michelle and her son are on their own with no support, and because of a bad transmission in her modest 2012 Ford Focus, they haven't left home since July of 2022. She works full-time for the county, and he's a sophomore in high school, challenged by learning issues. She makes just over the income limit for many types of assistance but in Boulder county where the cost of living is high, she struggles monthly to make ends meet.

I work with Michelle, and she's one of my everyday heroes. She is selfless and completely focused on our community clients and getting red tape out of the way so that everyday people can get what they need. She's kind, upbeat and smart.

One medical emergency in 2021 caused the delicate balance of her existence to tip out of her favor. Now she needs help getting this car fixed so that she can become independent again and apply for jobs that require presence in the office.

There but for the grace of God go I, and probably many of you. It's a fine line that many people walk, and sometimes we all just need some help from others. This is one of those times for Michelle. I hope you'll help us get her to her goal of the new transmission and a renewed sense of personal freedom and the possibility of a better job down the road.
