After celebrating a big road win against Sacred Heart Cathedral in San Francisco. That Thursday night, on February 12th with both Valley Christian Girls Basketball Teams, I walked back to where my car was parked and it was gone.
My name is Cornell Carter, and I serve as an Assistant Coach for the Valley Christian Girls Basketball Program. That rainy evening, my personal vehicle was stolen during our game. Upon returning a police report was filed and vehicle had been seen on the streets of Oakland. When discovered the car had been dumped, wrecked and all four tires gone.
It took me nearly two years of saving to purchase that car. Since that incident, I have already spent approximately $3,500 on towing, rental cars, and UBER transportation to continue showing up to both Varsity & Junior Varsity Team practices and games. I remain fully committed to these young women and this program, but the financial impact has been significant and unexpected.
With the support of our Coaching Staff, Basketball Program, and Athletic Department- I'm hoping to raise $11,000 to help with recovery costs and repairs to get my vehicle back in working order.
If you are able to give, any amount truly helps. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much!
Grateful for all your support!
