Robert Forbes fund (Bakersfield protest collision)

UPDATE June 6, 2020: Robert Forbes has passed away as a result of his injuries. This is a deeply distressing moment for the community. I have been retained to represent the legal interests of the family of Robert Forbes. All funds will be held in trust for funeral expenses and for his family.

On 6/3/20, at approximately 10:23 pm, a Bakersfield man was peacefully protesting with a large group when he was run down by a car. The group of protesters was obvious to everyone in the area and many cars navigated the area safely. A local reporter himself witnessed that the car sped up in the moments prior to impact. This is confirmed by an independent witness. The peaceful protester was a Black man and the car that sped up into him was driven by a White man. The driver was apprehended after people at the scene chased after him. The injuries are life threatening and he remains in serious condition at a Bakersfield hospital.

All of the money will be given to the injured man for his benefit.  I am an attorney and will keep this money in trust for the injured man. I have not disclosed his name as he is not yet able to give permission for public release of his private information. If you have any questions, you may contact me at [email redacted]
