Car repairs to safely transport myself and son

Hi everyone,

im Tahmayne a 20 year old stay at home mum to my nearly 8 month old son Hudson, Hudson was born with bacterial meningitis so he has additional appointments with specialists and physical therapy.

recently my car was inspected and I was informed of some repairs to be done as soon as I could, whilst the list of those repairs has been getting significantly smaller today 3/09/2025 my car lost all breaks completely with my whole world in the car, myself my son and my dog. My breaks could not have gone at a worst time. My brake pedal went straight to the floor, my hand break had nothing to give it was life and death.

thankfully I managed to find somewhere safe to jam my car into the gutter to come to a complete stop to avoid injury to my family and others.

Being a stay at home mum to a child that needs me has made things incredibly difficult financially relying on Centrelink to live a day to day life. Unfortunately I'm not eligible to take out loans due to lack of income, I have sold majority of my personal belongings to attempt to make my car safe for my family.

i am reaching out to my village, community, friends and family to ask for a helping hand. For those that do know me are aware I rarely ask for help but this is a time of need to keep my son safe on our travels to and from appointments, grocery shopping and being regular individuals.

i understand this economy sucks and times are tough but if you could share around that would mean the absolute world to me.
