Help me fix my car
Hi my name is Mauricio, I’m 18, and I’m here to fundraise for a recent car accident I was involved in about a month ago.
At the age of 18, I was very excited to finally purchase my first car. I had been saving for 4 years by working tirelessly while still balancing my education. (I started my job at the age of 14).
I finally bought myself my very own 2020 Volkswagen Jetta! And i’m so happy I reached this goal of mine, because I’ll be starting college this fall as the first person to go to a higher education in my family. In fact, I am also a first generation American. Needless to say, I am very proud of everything I have accomplished and very thankful for my family.
I only had the car for a few months before I got into the accident, which has devastated me. I have never felt such a great amount of regret and stress. Unfortunately, I made the bad decision to not include collision and comprehensive insurance, since it was just way too expensive for me to afford. And since it was decided as my fault, I would be paying all the repairs out of my own pocket. After speaking with many auto body shops, it turns out the expenses are above $10k!! I’ve tried and asked my insurance (Bristol West), but they are no help. Honestly I really wished they really cared about their customers and had some sympathy for a situation like this. I shouldn’t have to worry about how $10k can determine if I can go to school since I'll be needing the car to commute to and from school, as well as being able to pay to even go.
At this point, I'm losing hope that I will be able to start college this fall as it’s been a month since the accident happened. But I know that my family, especially my parents, would be so upset if I didn’t go in the fall. I really really hope that someone reads this and understands the struggle I am going through at this time. I honestly would have never figured my life as an adult would start out like this. I mean, who would? I know I'm 18 but I'm also still a kid. I should still be able to have fun and go out with my friends but it is becoming less and less frequent as money and time is being really tough on me. I know I've said a lot so far because it really is a lot for me. But I hope this convinces you in helping me and saving my world from falling apart.
